Rookie training W/ Jill Curtis

Well we didn't make it with the pushing passenger part of our test . talking with Marc and Jill it is because Me being new at riding and Rookie being Green broke nether one of us new what to do . Marc called me today and said for me doing Parelli I was learning the Hard way .Most riders start with the BASICs of riding and the Horse they are using has been trained to ride . Well OK I wanted to teach my own horse and Rookies Ground skills are Perfect again we passed all level one but pushing passenger That's pretty Dam Good with a very Green Horse. So now Rookie and I have had our first riding lesson with Jill yesterday and it was very difficult for me and Rookie.We did allot of phases and Jill did allot of coaching Wow my legs and butt are sore . Jill even did some riding and I was seeing a different Rookie ,He had a little attitude with me and Jill, Hm Interesting!!
Today Rookie and I practiced riding and we both understand alittle more . we started and stop ed at different areas and even went from a walk to a trot , did crossing the arena and figure 8 s.Hell we even circled and went between the barrel and the stepping stool .All in all what a Great day. We will ride again Thursday and we have a lesson with Jill on Friday

Hello All
Today was another Great day ,I have started working the 7 games with Sunday he is a quick learner .. I started with the yo yo and the stand in one spot and a lot of friendly game . He was a little afraid of the carrot string but is getting better.I wanted to get a start on leading him around the large turnout doing the helicopter with the rope. not bad , then I worked on picking up all his hoofs and getting him ready for later this had to be the best part of the day .back to mommy . Did some new level 2 games with Rookie ,We did the sniff it and touch it and then take it ,Sorry about your Hat Eric !! I used every body who was standing around the fences ,barrels,cones,glove in between fence post and we even did the sideways game over Eric Well, we came very close If Eric was bent over a Little more it might have been a success. We also did the circle game while walking down the arena and going around items . We did teach Numerous to back through the gate He was a little haywire today for some reason I had to mach his energy 2 to 3 times but we did OK .

Well this weekend was great , Rookie & Numerous did a lot of Parelli .Rookie is now under saddle and learning how to walk ,trot ,and canter . He is learning what the cues are and we are having to use phases and I had to take lessons on a older horse .As we say in Parelli land Horse teaches rider and rider teaches Horse. Numerous has been working on the lateral fl exaction he is real stiff. We are doing the seven games and using our imagination wow we are just having fun .

well this weekend was productive ,we rode Rookie and had a little training help from Sabina .We are teaching Rookie to walk and trot while doing the pushing passenger riding lesson as well as my self . Rookie and Numerous also worked on the circle game jumping over logs and on the 3 tier sand box . so far our ground work is 100% but I need to take riding lessons to get my energy to my butt so Rookie will do his part .All in all we are pleased and looking forward to level Two .

Well this weekend was full of surprises , My Parelli instructor was out on Saturday and we were going to work some shiloh horses .Well Marc and I walked around the ranch deciding Horses and we decided to do my level one test . It was all good until Rookie and I had to trot for 21 min. um he did not want to trot so we have to test on this part again . I wont have to do it all over just the one i missed .Level two here I come . so for now
